I have recently dug into How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth by Drs. Gordon D. Fee and Douglas Stuart (Zondervan, 2003). I am reading it for a seminary class, but the book would be great for anyone interested in a deeper Bible study.Providing a lot of study time guidance and using many common misinterpretations as examples, Fee and Stuart have done a great job of communicating a structured approach to studying the Bible without getting overly "scholarly" in their language or setting up interpretation "rules" that aren't practical. Their straightforward approach of "background research then life application" (exegesis then hermeneutics) is easy to follow for Bible students of any level.
It has improved the fruitfulness of my personal study time. I highly recommend it.
Be Blessed,
Scotty
